Through the Human Services Office (HSO), our staff steps in with crisis intervention for people already burdened with costs associated with meeting their basic needs. This charity hub is the access point to all services provided by CUP. In addition to the emergency housing services, clients can also access food support, transportation assistance, prescriptions, employment services, funeral and burial expenses, infant supplies and hygiene items.
The HSO addresses the issue of food security through a program where qualified families can partake in a monthly food box program that includes fresh meat, milk, and eggs in addition to non-perishable items. For heads of household with proof of newly established employment, CUP provides work uniforms, boots, and transportation assistance to support individuals until they receive their first pay checks. CUP’s HSO also manages a furniture and appliance assistance program for families moving to new housing. The desired outcome for HSO clients is stabilization. CUP seeks to stand in the gap with assistance that prevents people from experiencing further crises such as homelessness.
