Volunteer

Catholic Urban Programs is blessed by the generosity of those who give their time, talent, and treasure to help rekindle hope and break the cycle of poverty. Volunteer opportunities include weekly and one-time direct service opportunities as well as many ways in which to offer one’s expertise as a member of one of our board committees. To learn more about assisting in areas such as finance, facilities management, fundraising, and marketing contact our development office.

WEEKLY COMMITMENT

The HUB
Catholic Urban Programs relies on the support of up to 34 volunteer shifts per week at The HUB location. Volunteers serve as receptionists and as pantry workers contributing greatly to our mission of advancing human dignity, remediating the effects of poverty, and empowering people to become self-sufficient. As of December 2, 2021 all front desk and pantry shifts are fully staffed.

ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

The HUB
From time-to-time Catholic Urban Programs has a need for a group of volunteers to complete a one-time or sporadic project at The HUB location. Such activities may include painting projects or heavy lifting/moving of items. We often put the word out about these needs on our Facebook page.

Holy Angels Shelter at the Hubbard House
One-time projects and service opportunities are available in support of our emergency shelter for women and children. Opportunities may include preparing a meal or activity for the families we serve or completing a renovation of a sleeping room or common area of the shelter.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION AND ORIENTATION PROCESS

For the safety and well-being of those we serve we have a vetting process in place for all volunteers. Steps that must be taken prior to volunteering are outlined below. Questions and inquiries should be sent to our development office.
